SPECIAL INITIATIVES
Alpha Phi Alpha’s special Initiatives are programs and activities that are sustained through collaborative efforts, memoranda of understanding, and/or outside financial assistance, which Alpha chapters are encouraged to implement. The Omicron Upsilon Lambda chapter participates in the following:
FUTURE MEN OF TOMORROW
The Omicron Upsilon Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Mentoring program for young males 9-14 years of age is designed to help young males learn responsibility, build self-esteem, cultural pride, and develop the requirements of manhood by integrating Christian values, education, and community service. The program’s focus is providing the “male role model” which is critically important to developing Future Men of Tomorrow.

SALUTE TO BLACK EDUCATORS
This first annual Salute to Black Educators Banquet was held on August 15, 1987, the date which the Omicron Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded. Bro. Dr. Frederick Humphries, president of Florida A&M University was our guest speaker.
Since it's infancy, the Salute to Black Educators awards program has annually recognized African American educators in Palm Beach County across four categories:
+ Stellar Performer in Education Award
+ Cornerstone Educator Award
+ Post Secondary Educator Award
+ Lifetime Achiever in Education Award
