HISTORY

This first annual Salute to Black Educators Banquet was held on August 15, 1987, the date which the Omicron Upsilon Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was founded. Bro. Dr. Frederick Humphries, president of Florida A&M University was our guest speaker.

Since it's infancy, the Salute to Black Educators awards program has annually recognized African American educators in Palm Beach County across five categories:

+  Stellar Performer in Education Award

+  Cornerstone Educator Award

+  Post Secondary Educator Award

+  Lifetime Achiever in Education Award

+ C. Spencer Pompey Humanitarian
